Here`s to another 10 years of Kindergarten!🎉
January 2026 marks a very special milestone for Fairfield as the School is celebrating 10 years since the opening of its Kindergarten. The children enjoyed special celebration afternoon last week where they buried a time capsule, full of their drawings and ambitions for the future, and enjoyed cupcakes in the dining hall!
The celebration not only highlighted the success of the Kindergarten since it first opened, but also the sense of community that continues to characterise it. From current children to Kindergarten alumni, parents, and staff, the Kindergarten is surrounded by 10 years of special memories.

Whether our pupils are enjoying interactive language lessons, developing core skills in sport, or practising mathematical equations, the curriculum at Fairfield is designed to be broad and balanced, offering opportunities for stretch and challenge.
Making up a significant part of this varied curriculum is our commitment to outdoor learning, especially in the Early Years. The globally celebrated International Day of Education recognises the role that education plays towards reaching sustainable development goals and at Fairfield, we believe that igniting a passion for the environment in the early stages of a child’s journey through school fosters a lifelong love of outdoor learning.

Our FFD pupils took part in an in-house chess competition on Friday! Playing chess encourages pupils to remain focused and calm in high pressure situations, allowing them to think clearly and pragmatically. Studies have shown that playing chess can improve a person`s cognition skills such as memory, concentration and problem-solving which are key skills our pupils can take with them throughout their school life and beyond. A huge congratulations to all of the pupils that took part!

Our Kindergarten children have been getting out and about in this lovely January sunshine to explore the snow that has fallen on their playground!❄
Pre-prep pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 celebrated the Festival of the Epiphany in their French lessons today, learning all about this famous French tradition. Taking place on the 12th Day after Christmas every year, the festival marks the arrival of the Three Kings after the birth of Jesus.
The national festival is celebrated using a special cake called a King`s Cake. A charm is hidden inside the cake and whoever receives the piece of cake with the charm in it, becomes king or queen for the day.
Highly engaged, the children thoroughly enjoyed learning about this part of French culture. They discovered key terms through watching a video, looking at French books on the topic and of course, eating the cake for themselves!
