Transitioning to Senior School

Three schools, one community

At Fairfield, we offer a supportive and well-prepared route into senior school life. Throughout your child’s time with us, their class teacher will regularly discuss progress with you.

All pupils who join Fairfield before the start of Year 6 are guaranteed a place at one of the Foundation Senior Schools, if they are on track to meet the entry threshold for Loughborough Grammar School or Loughborough High School. Pupils who are not on track or have joined Fairfield in Year 6 will be required to sit the 11+ Entrance Assessment at the respective Senior School within the Foundation.

Our meticulously crafted Senior Transition programme is designed with the specific intent of nurturing independence and maturity in our pupils. This initiative equips them with the essential skills and mindset necessary to thrive in the forthcoming stages of their education. The familiarity of the Foundation’s ethos, community spirit, and state-of-the-art facilities empowers our children to continue their educational journey with a sense of assurance, autonomy, and proactive readiness for the future both as learners and as individuals.

At Fairfield, we are committed to supporting our pupils not only during the transition to Year 7 but also in their development as lifelong learners imbued with purpose, curiosity, and character. We understand that the educational landscape is ever-evolving, and we strive to instil a sense of resilience and adaptability in our students, preparing them to face future challenges with confidence and enthusiasm.

Choose Fairfield, where your child’s educational journey is not just a path to academic success but a ‘Foundation’ for a fulfilling life ahead.
