Providing stretch and challenge for all

Fairfield Prep School becomes the first independent school in the Midlands to achieve NACE Ambassador School Status

We are delighted to announce that Fairfield Prep School has been awarded Ambassador School Status by the National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE) after successfully passing our third accreditation of the NACE Challenge Award, becoming the first independent school in the Midlands to achieve this title.

While the Challenge Award acknowledges the high-quality provision for more able learners, the Ambassador School Status recognises the school’s sustained excellence and contribution to NACE’s research and resource-sharing initiatives.

Upon becoming a Challenge Ambassador School, Fairfield joins a network of education leaders across the UK, enabling them to work with and learn from other schools through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities and via the sharing of valuable research and initiatives.

Mr Jamie Moseley, Deputy Head Academic at Fairfield Prep School, who led the application for Ambassador School Status, said: “Achieving the NACE Challenge Award reaccreditation and Ambassador School Status is a tremendous honour. It reflects the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils and our shared commitment to providing a stimulating and challenging education for all. We are proud of what this recognition says about our school and are excited to build on this success by working with others across the NACE community and beyond.”

In preparation for the reaccreditation assessment, Fairfield submitted a portfolio of evidence to NACE, including strategic documentation, curriculum developments, assessment information and learning case studies which were explored by the assessor during the visit. Members of our leadership team, governors, parents and pupils were invited to speak with NACE and observations were made through learning walks and exploration of pupil work.

The report received upon confirmation of Fairfield’s Ambassador Status establishes our commitment to providing stretch and challenge for its pupils. It reads: “The assessment confirms that Fairfield has successfully established a culture where challenge, curiosity and ambition are integral to pupils’ everyday experiences. These priorities are therefore designed to sustain momentum, deepen impact and extend the school’s influence. Collectively, they provide a strategic framework for the next phase of Fairfield’s development, supporting the school’s continued growth as a reflective, research-informed learning community and reinforcing its position as a NACE Ambassador School.”

Following Fairfield’s reaccreditation and receipt of Ambassador School Status, we look forward to continuing to work closely with NACE, contributing to its provision of educational best practice resources and research.
