Before the half-term break, Year 5 enjoyed a memorable adventure trip to Conwy, Wales🏴
Using the youth hostel as a base, with beautiful views of the sea and mountains, the children engaged in a variety of exciting activities. The itinerary included…
🏞️Kayaking on a nearby lake
🌄Gorge walking (including scrambling through the `Elephant`s Bottom`!)
🥾Hike up Conwy Mountain to develop map skills and enhance their nature knowledge
Some also participated in beach school activities, applying their learning about rivers and coasts, while others explored Conwy Town, including a visit to Britain’s smallest house. Evenings were packed with team-building experiences such as archery, orienteering, fire lighting and team challenges.
The trip was fuelled by delicious meals, which kept everyone energised and ready for adventure. We were impressed by the Fairfield values on display, particularly the aspirational attitude to embrace challenges and push themselves outside their comfort zones and the independence shown at being away from home. Well done Year 5!🐑🎒🥾

Creation, Curiosity and Culture!
Year 3 have been having lots of fun in RE this term exploring a range of creation stories from different cultures and faiths. We have enjoyed discussing big questions and reflecting on the awe and wonder of creation, with the children sharing thoughtful ideas and showing great curiosity. As part of our learning, we have spent time outside making use of our wonderful Forest School.
These outdoor experiences have helped bring our learning to life and encouraged us to appreciate our natural world first-hand!

Futures Week at Fairfield! ⭐
Last week our Year 6 pupils were treated to a week of career exploration from workshops and talks to careers fairs, our pupils dove headfirst into the future! They discussed anything and everything from apprenticeships in business and the arts to learning from our own staff and parent body about their `squiggly` career pathways.
From marketing expertise and physiotherapists to lawyers and plastic surgeons, our pupils had the chance to ask all of their burning questions to get them thinking about their own careers when they grow up. A huge thank you to all the staff and parents that volunteered their expertise this week to give our pupils a chance to experience a whole host of careers!

From outdoor learning to co-curricular clubs, activities at Fairfield have huge benefits on the emotional wellbeing of our pupils.
Promoting healthy habits from a young age provides children with the foundations needed to develop their emotional resilience. Counselling support is also available to our pupils and uses a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to the needs of each child, ensuring they feel understood, supported, and equipped to manage challenges both inside and outside of the classroom.

Busy bees!🐝
Last week our Reception classes visited the @lborogrammar bee hives to learn all about our busy little friends, including the life cycle of a bee, looking at their homes and asking lots of questions (like what would happen if a bee ate a wasp?!) We were also able to see the bees up close keeping warm in their hives as they wait for the warm spring weather to appear.
Not only was this a fantastic learning opportunity for our pupils, it also reminded them to be mindful of the nature all around them and how such small creatures can have a monumental impact on the natural world.

Creative, curious, confident🧬🔬
Our series of Science Fairs kicked off yesterday as pupils set up their own stands, presented their research and conducted their very own experiments! Alongside their peers, staff members from @lborohigh and @lborogrammar were invited to explore our pupils` work, asking them insightful questions and encouraging their curiosity further.
From plants listening to classical music, to making slime and even heart dissection, our pupils had a fantastic afternoon learning from each other.
