Loughborough Schools Foundation welcomes Chris Staley as its new Chief Executive Officer

Following a comprehensive recruitment process, Mr Chris Staley has been appointed as Loughborough Schools Foundation’s first Chief Executive Officer. Mr Staley takes up the role from the start of January 2026, joining from Coventry School Foundation where he has been Principal and Chief Executive since 2022.

Mr Staley brings to Loughborough a wealth of experience in the education sector, including eight years as Headmaster at Wisbech Grammar School in Cambridgeshire and senior roles at schools in Dorset and Surrey prior to his time at Coventry.

Mr Staley said: “I am delighted to have been appointed as CEO of Loughborough Schools Foundation – a group of schools and a nursery, steeped in history and offering outstanding education, opportunities and experiences for pupils, on a truly fantastic campus.

“This new role was simply too wonderful an opportunity to pass up, and I am truly excited to be able to assist the schools that make up LSF to move forward with even greater purpose and enthusiasm.

“At the heart of the schools within LSF is an amazing community. Within this community, there is a palpable sense of optimism, ambition and innovation. These ingredients provide an excellent base for the Foundation to fully realise its potential in the years ahead and to take advantage of the opportunities that will be forthcoming.”

The Chief Executive Officer role has been created to set the longer-term strategic direction of the Foundation, and ensure it is best placed to achieve the ambition it holds for its schools, pupils, staff and wider community. Mr Simon Leese, Chair of Governors at Loughborough Schools Foundation, said:

“The Board is delighted to welcome Mr Staley to the Foundation. His wealth of experience will greatly assist us in ensuring the schools continue to offer the best opportunities for all our young people, and move the Foundation forward with confidence and ambition.”
