When children join Fairfield in Pre-School or Reception, they step into an environment where learning feels joyful, purposeful and full of discovery.

Inspiring Learning (4-11)
Our curriculum not only meets but goes beyond the National Curriculum, building firm foundations in literacy and numeracy while offering rich experiences across Humanities, STEAM, Languages, and the Arts. As children move through the school, specialist teaching and excellent resources, including digital technology that further enhance their education.
Our Pre-Prep curriculum encourages teamwork through group activities and collaborative play. Children discover the importance of sharing ideas, cooperating with others, forming lasting friendships and skills that lay the foundation for their future success.
Our committed teachers help children participate with increasing confidence in a wide variety of activities, developing their communication, language, and physical skills. From the arts to sports, pupils are encouraged to explore diverse interests, fostering lifelong friendships and a well-rounded education.
Specialist-led science lessons complement our broad and engaging curriculum, which is further enriched by exciting topics across all subjects and enhanced through our extensive program of trips, visits, and residential experiences.

About the Survey
This data comes from a recent pupil voice survey conducted at Fairfield Prep School in partnership with the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS).
The IAPS survey is designed to gather honest feedback from pupils about their school experience, including wellbeing, teaching quality, enjoyment of lessons, and opportunities for personal growth. It provides schools with nationally benchmarked data, allowing results to be compared against other independent prep schools.
To ensure a genuinely whole-school perspective, Fairfield adapted the standard IAPS survey to make it accessible for younger pupils in Years 1 and 2. This enabled children from Years 1 through to Year 6 to participate and share their views.
339 pupils from Years 1-6 took part, with a 95% response rate, representing almost the entire pupil body.
