Our Pre-Prep curriculum is enhanced by specialist taught outdoor education lessons in our Forest School.
We believe in nurturing our pupils beyond the confines of the classroom. The Outdoor Odyssey Scheme is an essential part of our curriculum, embracing the great outdoors to enhance outdoor skills, eco-awareness and sustainability.
From Kindergarten to Year 2 each child participates in a range of child-initiated and teacher-led outdoor tasks and investigations at both our forest school site and the designated outdoor learning area.
Lessons are designed to provide high-quality outdoor learning experiences that not only reinforce classroom learning but also promote pupils’ wellbeing, social skills and confidence. Nature-based experiences have been linked to reduced stress and improved mental health, providing children with a space to relax and build resilience Children will develop their cognitive skills as they problem solve in the outdoors.
Ultimately, Forest School cultivates a deep appreciation for the natural world, fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment and a holistic understanding of our planet.
